An Ecosystemic Understanding of Child Sexual Abuse - Child Sexual Abuse Certificate Workshop Core Knowledge 4Presenter: Anthony Goldsmith, MA, BCETS
Child sexual abuse treatment is a specialized therapeutic approach to the traumatic symptoms that are caused by the experience of being molested. To fully understand the nature of child sexual abuse and its treatment, it is necessary to clearly define what it is (and isn’t), explore the legal aspects of child sexual abuse, and examine its prevalence in our society. The workshop will include a review of the psychology of offenders, examine the interaction between offenders and victims, and explore how that interaction informs treatment of child and adult survivors of sexual abuse. Treatment goals and methods will be discussed. Finally, the workshop will address the impact of treating child sexual abuse survivors and self-care for therapists.
