Preschool and Elementary Grades

Workshops for young children are designed to be developmentally appropriate and are presented in classroom size groups using discussion, video, music and role-plays to teach recognizing, resisting and reporting child sexual abuse. Fourth through sixth grade students are introduced to the concepts of bullying and sexual harassment in the context of 'respect'. These seminars create an atmosphere of safety and comfort to establish personal safety as part of the child's repertoire of rules. Topics include:

  • Concept of personal safety
  • Touching rules & owning one's own body
  • Assertiveness
  • Defining strangers
  • Privacy
  • Saying no to inappropriate touch
  • Who to tell
  • It is never the child's fault
