Victims' Rights (Pennsylvania)

People who have been sexually abused are victims of a crime. As such, when abuse has been reported, is being investigated, and is being prosecuted, people who have been victimized need to know what their rights are.  In Pennsylvania, they include the right to:

  • Information on services available to crime victims
  • Notification of important developments in your case
  • Have someone to with you to hearings about your case
  • Give a statement on the impact the crime had on you and your family
  • Help in filing for victim compensation benefits
  • Have any property taken returned to you
