Child Sexual Abuse Treatment Methods:
A Professional Case Conference
Expertly led therapy consultation in a group setting provides an excellent environment to hone the skills involved in being a therapist who can competently deal with the issue of child sexual abuse treatment.
Therapists also learn to deal with their own emotional response to child sexual abuse as it is revealed in the therapeutic process.
Therapists become familiar with a multi-modal approach to helping clients with recovery and growth. The group process works to strengthen the learning experience.
Participation in this program will enalbe you to:
- Understand the unique effects of child sexual abuse trauma on the child and their family.
- Gain Knowledge on how to reduce vicarious trauma and handle counter-transference through collaboration with other dedicated colleagues.
- Learn intervention techniques to create a healing environment for your client.
- Develop comfort in interaction and collaboration with other involved systems.

Anthony Goldsmith, MA
The group leader is Tony Goldsmith a licensed psychologist with 31 years of experience in the mental health field. Tony is the Clinical Director for Family Support Line. and has an active private psychotherapy practice working with children and families. His areas of specialty include recovery from trauma and sexual abuse evaluation and treatment. Tony had a history of superviding professional staff and graduate and doctoral interns throughout his career.
Requirements
Participants must have at least a graduate degree in psychology, social work, family therapy or other related human service field and at least one year of supervised psychotherapy experience.
Session information
A total of 8 sessions are held bi-weekly over a 4 month period. Visit www.familysupportline.org for information on the start of the next session.
Sessions are held on Thursday mornings from 10:00 am to 12 noon at a location in Media, PA.
Cost
The cost is $400 for 8 two-hour consultation sessions. Refunds can not be made for missed sessions.

Continuing Education Credits are available for Psychologists and PA Social Works
Psychologists: The Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology of Widener University is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Widener University maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
Social Workers: The Center for Social Work Education of Widener University is a pre-approved provider by the Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Professional Counselors to offer continuing education credits for licensed social workers.
Sixteen (16) Continuing Education Credits are available for Psychologists and PA Social Works at the completion of the 8 week session.
